DemoCamp Halifax has occurred annually since 2011 and has had over 1100 attendees since launch. The lineup of past demos includes local success stories Complr, SimplyCast, LeadSift and more.
DemoCamp was started as a grass roots movement to showcase new and promising companies in front of the audience of peers and give them valuable early stage feedback. First DemoCamp was held in Toronto in 2008 and it was brought to Halifax in 2011.
35 companies have launched at DemoCamp so far. 13 of them went on to raise over $12M dollars in venture financing and 80% of the companies formed relationships with audience attendees either as service providers, investors, customers or advisors. Companies such as LeadSift, Compilr, AnalyzeRe, EmailOpened etc.
Two DemoCamp companies have exited, Compilr was acquired in 2014 and NewPace in a 2013 deal.
